On part of Mike's journey cross-country from Florida to California we stopped off at Saguaro NP since its right off of I-10, just outside of Tuscon, AZ. We stopped off at the visitor center for my ritual stamp and patch and then drove around the 8 mile loop through the cactus forest. Each cactus is quite large, as we had envisioned, but we were surprised at how unhealthy and sickly they looked. I guess the recent drought in the area was taking its toll on them.
