 Pacific Grove
0_places/pg/pg.jpg
Just west of New Monterey and the aquarium is Pacific Grove, a very cute community known for large, old, beachfront Victorian homes (many now turned into inns and bread & breakfasts), a gorgeous blanket of pink flowers every spring, rocky coastlines, coastal trails, and butterflies! A welcome sign located just west of the aquarium on Ocean View Blvd.

Every spring, late March through May, these pink flowers bloom and blanket the rocky shores of Pacific Grove. From Seaside, if you look in just the right spot, you can see the pink flowers all the way across the bay!

Just west of the aquarium along Ocean View Blvd on a sheltered beach you may see a number of seals sunning themselves. The day this picture was taken there was a group of at least 50 seals!! Image courtesy of Vladimir Bobov.

The frothy remains of high surf and waves crashing into the rocks along the shore. Often when tide isout, you can play on the rocks and observe marine life in many of the tide pools left behind. Image courtesy of Vladimir Bobov.
