While not a state, I figured it would be fitting to get Washington DC's highpoint now that we live in the area. My friend Kathy was in town for part of the weekend so we headed to northwest DC for the highpoint and some geocaching.

What was once DC's only Civil War battle site has now become a water storage site for the DC water authority. All of the cool buildings were behind permanent fencing and not accessible to the public. Furthermore, some construction was going on that closed off access to much of the park. We were never able to find the offical USGS benchmark.

Update! I went back to Fort Reno Park on March 7, 2009. This time I was better prepared w/ my GPS and proper coordinates in tote. Now I am satsified!
